We will continue to monitor the situation and make changes as necessary.

2022-Community-Garden-Protocols-and-Agreement

Please review these protocols before coming to the garden. They will also be posted on the garden gate and by entering the garden, you agree to abide by the protocols.

We thank you for your patience while we work out these details. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to canmorecommunitygardening@gmail.com

Members of the Canmore Community Garden are asked to abide by the following COVID-19 protocols:

  • not visiting the garden if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, runny nose, difficulty breathing) or having been exposed to someone showing symptoms or positive for COVID-19
  • hand washing and tool sanitizing
  • maintaining 2 meters of distance from others at all times

Specifically, CCG requires the following to protect members:

  1. The garden must only be accessed by registered members. The garden must remain locked when not occupied and will remain closed to the public. The last member departing must attach the lock and secure the garden.
  2. Anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, runny nose, difficulty breathing) or having been exposed to someone showing symptoms of the virus may not enter the garden.
  3. Upon entering the garden, every person must wash their hands with soap and water provided, for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth, especially with unwashed hands. Cough or sneeze into your sleeve. Follow all current public health guidelines.
  4. Everyone in the garden must maintain physical distancing of 2 meters at all times (unless gardening with members of the same household). People with underlying health conditions, may prefer to visit during quiet times (i.e., between 7 and 10 am).
  5. A garden calendar is posted on the CCG website indicating when work parties are scheduled. Teams must post planned work parties on the calendar. Gardeners should check the schedule for prior to visiting the garden. If you arrive and the number of people on site makes it difficult to maintain 2 meters of space between gardeners, please stay outside the garden, or come back another time when you are able to maintain appropriate distance.
  6. Only 1 person may occupy the Tool Shed or the Greenhouse at a time. Please provide distance for person inside to exit.
  7. Gardeners should bring their own gloves and consider also bringing their own hand tools.
  8. Cleaning equipment for tools and hands (soap and water) will be provided at the two hand washing stations.  All handles of tools, including buckets and watering cans, faucets and latches (i.e., greenhouse, tool shed and gates) must be cleaned before and after use. A diluted bleach sanitizing solution will also be available.
  9. Hoses should be stretched out on side of path (not rolled) to expose them to the sun, and the first 4 feet should be disinfected before and after use along with the nozzle and water tap.

All gardeners must acknowledge having read these guidelines when registering and agree:

  1. That failure to comply with the above conditions, on first instance, will be result in being asked to leave the garden. A second instance will lead to a ban from the garden for the season for the individual.
  2. To absolve Canmore Community Gardening Society from any liability, financial or otherwise, which may result from negligence or non-compliance with these COVID 19 guidelines.
